About The Physiotherapy Unit

Our experienced staff are here to help

The Physiotherapy Unit at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth is one of the UK’s leading physio centres, offering a comprehensive range of services at your convenience.

Our department is staffed by experienced chartered physiotherapists whose variety of specialist skills and interests cover every area.  They work closely with some of country’s finest consultants and nurses, offering the highest standard of specialist care and attention.

We regularly treat elite sportsmen and athletes in our unit both following surgery and as outpatients.  This includes premiership footballers and rugby players, cricketers, dancers, badminton and basketball players. The same high level of care available to these athletes is extended to everyone who comes through our dedicated specialist unit.

Coordinated care

Working as a team, we use a range of skills to ensure optimum management and to help patients get better and stay better.  We ensure excellent communication between all our staff members as well as GP’s and other healthcare providers.  With professional sportsmen we work with and advise club doctors and coaches on optimum rehabilitation, to enable players and athletes to return to training as quickly as possible without causing further injury.

We have links to further rehabilitation facilities in Chancery Lane, Royal Hospital Chelsea and Farringdon.

Flexible appointment times

With clinics running until 7pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings, we will do our best to work around your schedule.  For further details visit the contact us page or call the physiotherapy unit on 020 7806 4010.

Contact Information

Our Appointments Team have a dedicated and caring approach to finding you the earliest appointment possible with the best specialist.

Most patients are referred to us by their GP or another medical specialist as a referral letter is often needed before an appointment can be confirmed.

If you do not have a GP, the we may be able to assist you by suggesting the most appropriate course of action for you to take, given your location and individual circumstance.

If you have medical insurance (e.g. Bupa, Axa PPP, Norwich Union), you will need to contact your insurer to get authorisation for any treatment and, in most cases, you will require a referral letter from your GP.

Our Charity

Our Charity

The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth is a charity, meaning every time you visit here for treatment you are helping someone less fortunate than yourself.

Our aim is to help care for the sick, whilst putting back profits from our world-renowned organisation to fund our on-site hospice and clinics. Our key objectives are to make sure that patients receive the support and treatment they need in an environment that is safe and secure, offering the very highest standards of care to whoever seeks it.

As a charity, we must operate on a not-for-profit basis and our assets are used for charitable purposes.

We offer state-of-the-art facilities at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth where the Physiotherapy Unit can help with a wide range of conditions
